Rockets Hit the US, Coalition Base in Iraq

by Manager

At least 12 rockets have reportedly landed at Iraq’s Ain al-Asad airbase that hosts American troops, coalition forces, and Iraqi military, security sources told media.

This is the second rocket attack in Iraq in a single month and came two days before Pope Francis is due to visit Iraq.

Reports indicate rockets were launched about 8km away from the base located in western Anbar province, Hindustan times reported.

So far, no casualties have been reported.

Pope Francis is scheduled to visit Iraq despite deteriorating security situations.

Earlier on February 16, 2021, a civilian contractor and U.S service member was injured in a rocket attack on the U.S led forces in northern Iraq.
