UK writer Samantha Harvey wins 2024 Booker with space novel

British author Samantha Harvey won the 2024 Booker Prize for her novel “Orbital,” a 136-page story following six astronauts contemplating Earth from the International Space Station over a single day. The novel, which earned Harvey a £50,000 prize, is the first space-set book to win the Booker and the second-shortest winning novel.
