Aga Khan emerald fetches record $9 mn in Geneva auction
A rare 37-carat square emerald, originally commissioned by Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan from Cartier in 1960, sold for nearly $9 million at Christie’s Geneva auction, becoming the world’s most expensive emerald. The brooch, which features 20 marquise-cut diamonds, surpassed the previous record held by Elizabeth Taylor’s Bulgari emerald.
