Intel appoints new CEO, industry veteran Lip-Bu Tan

Intel has appointed semiconductor industry veteran Lip-Bu Tan as its new CEO, effective March 18. Tan, former CEO of Cadence Design Systems and a previous Intel board member, will lead the struggling chipmaker through a critical turnaround period.
