India interested to finance Bangladesh’s Teesta project: Hasan Mahmud

India has expressed interest in financing Bangladesh’s Teesta river project, said Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud after meeting Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra. They discussed PM Hasina’s upcoming visit to India after the Indian elections. Border killings, non-lethal weapons use, easing visa regimes, and regional connectivity including hydropower import from Nepal/Bhutan via India were also discussed. Hasan praised the excellent Bangladesh-India ties under Hasina and Modi’s leadership.
