Fearing Building Collapse, Over 200 Inmates Escape Pak Jail During Earthquakes
At least 216 prisoners escaped from Karachi’s Malir Jail Tuesday after 3.2-3.6 magnitude earthquakes caused panic and structural damage. Inmates broke cell doors and windows amid fears of building collapse. Police operations to recapture escapees resulted in one death and two officer injuries.
