Short-term flood predicted in June

By Redoy K

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department warns of potential short-term flooding in the northern, northeastern, and southeastern regions due to heavy rainfall expected in June. Their one-month outlook predicts normal monsoon rains, with the possibility of 1-2 low-pressure systems, one potentially developing into a depression. Mild to moderate heatwaves and thunderstorms are also forecasted. The country experienced above-normal rainfall in May, with Sylhet recording the highest at 741mm. Photo: prothom alo
