Cabinet approves proposed National Budget for FY 2024-25

The Cabinet today approved the proposed national budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 at a special meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The budget, set to be unveiled by Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, exceeds Tk 8 lakh crore, including an Annual Development Programme (ADP) of Tk 2,65,000 crore. The transport and communication sector received the highest allocation of Tk 70,687.75 crore (26.67%) in the ADP, while the Local Government Division is set to receive around Tk 38,809 crore (15%).
