India’s heatwave longest ever, worse to come

India’s ongoing heatwave is the longest ever recorded, lasting around 24 days in different parts of the country, according to the head of India’s Meteorological Department. He warned that heatwaves will become more frequent, durable, and intense due to climate change caused by human activities and greenhouse gas emissions.
