Sylhet Floods: No sign of improvement despite less rain
The flood situation in Sylhet region remains critical despite reduced rainfall. Over 1.6 million people are affected, with 30,000 in shelters. While some rivers show slight water level decreases, most still flow above danger levels. The Kushiyara River has risen alarmingly. Parts of Sylhet city remain waterlogged, disrupting health services. Dyke breaches in Kanaighat and Moulvibazar have flooded new areas. Shahjalal University plans to start online classes post-Eid due to the situation. Source Daily Star
