4.4kg of gold left on plane at Dhaka airport

Customs officials at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport seized 4.42 kg of smuggled gold on Wednesday morning. The 38 gold bars, worth 45 million taka, were found abandoned and wrapped in black scotch tape on a Salam Air flight from Muscat. The discovery was made following a tip-off and careful surveillance. The gold bars were found in the overhead cabin of seat 2 (D-E-F). The seized gold has been deposited in the customs warehouse. Daily Star
