Quader not meeting protesting teachers today: FBUTA

The Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers’ Association (FBUTA) announced that their scheduled meeting with Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has been cancelled. The meeting was to discuss the ongoing work abstention by public university teachers demanding reinstatement of previous pension facilities. Quader reportedly cancelled due to a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina regarding Padma Bridge issues. The nationwide work abstention by teachers continues as they oppose the Universal Pension Scheme in favor of their previous pension system. Daily Star
