Mummified climber found in Peru 22 yrs later

American climber William Stampfl’s body, missing since 2002, was recovered in Peru’s Huascaran National Park as glaciers retreat. Found at 5,200 meters altitude, the mummified remains were well-preserved. Peru’s tropical glaciers, among the world’s most vulnerable, have decreased by 56% in six decades. The retreating ice is exposing long-buried artifacts and bodies.Source:Daily Star
