Prof Yunus assures Modi of protecting minorities

Bangladesh’s interim Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus assured Indian PM Narendra Modi of the government’s commitment to protecting all citizens, including minorities. In their first call, Yunus invited Indian journalists to report on minority safety, claiming exaggerated reports of attacks. Modi congratulated Yunus on his new role and expressed desire for close cooperation. Yunus agreed to join the virtual “Third Voice of Global South Summit” hosted by India. Both leaders discussed bilateral relations and Bangladesh’s current situation.
