US says Iran responsible for Trump campaign hack
US security agencies have accused Iran of hacking Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, citing it as part of increasingly aggressive Iranian activities to influence the 2024 election. Both Trump’s and Kamala Harris’s campaigns reported cyber attacks. Iran denies involvement and demands evidence. The US intelligence community is confident that Iran targeted both campaigns using social engineering and other methods. Google also reported Iranian-backed hackers targeting US presidential campaigns. The attacks are seen as attempts to interfere with the US election process. Reuters
