55 regimes use travel restrictions on critics: Freedom House

A Freedom House report reveals that at least 55 governments worldwide use travel restrictions to repress political opponents. Methods include revoking citizenship, imposing travel bans, confiscating passports, and denying consular services. The Middle East frequently revokes citizenship, while about 40 countries restrict movement in or out.
