BNP’s Khandaker Mosharraf acquitted in money laundering case

Former health minister and BNP leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain has been acquitted in a money laundering case involving Tk 9.53 crore. The Dhaka court found the charges unproven, stating the money was earned legally. Mosharraf expressed satisfaction with the verdict, claiming the case was filed to harass him. The case, filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission in 2014, alleged laundering of funds to a UK bank account. Fourteen other cases against Mosharraf are still pending. Daily Star
