30,000 CFS water being released from Kaptai Dam

Bangladesh Power Development Board opened 16 gates of Kaptai Dam, releasing 30,000 cubic feet of water per second due to increased upstream pressure. The action aims to prevent damage to surrounding areas. The Kaptai Lake is at capacity, and five units of the hydroelectric plant are producing 219 megawatts of electricity.
