England’s Wood out for the year with injured elbow

England fast bowler Mark Wood will be sidelined for the rest of 2024 due to a right elbow injury. The injury was discovered during a medical check-up following a thigh injury from the first Test against Sri Lanka. Wood expressed shock at the diagnosis, having maintained his speed in recent Tests. He will miss England’s upcoming tours of Pakistan and New Zealand.
