Barapukuria Thermal Power Plant resumes production, supplying electricity to national grid
Barapukuria Thermal Power Plant in Dinajpur has partially resumed operations after a three-day shutdown. Unit 1, with a 125 MW capacity, restarted on Thursday evening, supplying 60-65 MW to the national grid. Chief Engineer Abu Bakr Siddique expects Unit 3 to restart soon, pending parts from the Chinese contractor. Unit 2 remains non-functional. The resumption has reduced load shedding in northern districts, benefiting agriculture and industries.
