Earth to get a temporary ‘mini-moon’ from September 29

A small asteroid, 2024 PT5, will become Earth’s temporary ‘mini-moon’ from September 29 to November 25. Discovered by NASA in August 2024, this 10-meter object likely originated from the Arjuna asteroid belt. It’s classified as a “temporary captured flyby” and may even be lunar ejecta.
