Additional DIG Mashiur Rahman arrested in Dhaka

Additional Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mashiur Rahman was arrested in Dhaka yesterday by detectives near the airport. He faces multiple charges filed after the August 5 ouster of Sheikh Hasina’s government through mass protests. Recently promoted from Deputy Commissioner, Mashiur had been serving as DC of Lalbagh Division (Detectives) until August 5. He was later attached to the Chattogram range DIG office.
