Sherpur flood causes 600C losses in agriculture, fisheries
Recent floods in Sherpur, Bangladesh have caused extensive damage, with losses of Tk600 crore in agriculture and fisheries, and Tk113 crore in infrastructure. Waterborne diseases are spreading due to lack of clean water. The Hindu community couldn’t celebrate Durga Puja due to submerged temples. Many families are facing hunger and inadequate relief. Farmer Badal Chandra Borman lost crops worth Tk70,000-80,000. The district administration is distributing relief and awaiting allocations for rehabilitation.
