Man duped of Tk 17 lakh in insurance scam

A Dhaka man was scammed out of Tk 17.67 lakh by fraudsters promising a $5 million insurance payout from a deceased person in the US. The victim, Md Nuruzzaman, was contacted via Facebook and WhatsApp by scammers posing as bank officials and customs officers. He made multiple payments for supposed fees and taxes. Police arrested Aziz Molla, one of the fraudsters, and seized evidence including cheque books and ATM cards. Molla confessed to his involvement in the crime.READ FULL
