Writ petitions against 11 political parties and legality of three elections withdrawn
Three coordinators of the anti-discrimination movement withdrew their two writ petitions from the High Court that challenged the political activities of 11 parties and the legality of the last three national elections. The petitions, filed yesterday, sought to ban parties including Awami League, declaring them “terrorist organizations” and challenged the 10th, 11th, and 12th parliamentary elections. Their lawyer Ahsanul Karim declined to disclose the reasons for withdrawing the petitions.READ FULL
