Ads for online betting apps on government websites

Online betting advertisements have been found on 3,295 web pages connected to 11 government websites in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority website hosted the highest 1,439 betting pages. Other affected websites include those of the Local Government Department, Public Library Directorate, Agricultural Development Corporation, and educational institutions. The Dismislab initiative uncovered this issue, raising concerns over the management and security of government websites being compromised to promote illegal online betting activities.
