Agencies blame Malaysia govt for mess in labour migration

By Redoy K

Recruiting agencies blamed the Malaysian government for the rise of syndicates and failure to send thousands of Bangladeshi workers within the deadline despite having valid visas. BAIRA leaders, including MPs who own recruiting firms, denied any wrongdoing or involvement in syndicates. They accused Malaysia of selecting the agencies and providing visas until the last moment, making it difficult to arrange travel. BAIRA claimed some of its MP members rightfully own recruiting agencies and were selected by Malaysia. photo: prothom alo
