359 shelters ready in Bagerhat to combat Cyclone Remal

MP Azim Murder: Hitmen were never paid

Investigators say the assailants who killed Jhenaidah-4 MP Anwarul Azim Anar were not paid the hefty sum promised by Aktaruzzaman, who hired them. Aktaruzzaman, a Bangladesh-born US citizen, is believed to have fled to New York on May 18. The assailants were operatives of the Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP). Maldives labour market for Bangladeshis closed again

The Maldives has closed its labor market for Bangladeshi workers again after fulfilling the quota of 100,000 foreign workers from a single country allowed by law. Though the market reopened in December 2023 after a 4-year gap, over 6,400 Bangladeshi workers who obtained clearances could not go as visas were not issued since April. 24 teams participate in sustainable development competition

24 Bangladeshi youth teams pitched community solutions addressing climate change and gender equality at the GenU imaGen Ventures Youth Challenge 2023-24. Teams Storm Troopers and Noibeddo, with vertical farming and tea waste recycling projects respectively, were selected as top teams. They will represent Bangladesh at the global challenge, competing for seed funding, after last year’s winner ‘BD Highway Turbine’ made the global top 10.

Cyclone Remal: Biman suspends all Cox’s Bazar-bound flights today

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended its flights to Cox’s Bazar today due to Cyclonic Storm Remal. The airline has also canceled its Kolkata flights BG395 and BG391 for today and tomorrow respectively. This comes after the Bangladesh Meteorological Department asked maritime ports to hoist danger signals as Remal intensified into a cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal.
