Automation initiative launched at Chittagong Port

Maritime and Textile Adviser Dr. Sakhawat Hossain has announced plans to automate Chittagong Port operations to reduce container handling times. During an inspection visit, he identified issues including long-standing idle containers, irregular licensing, and procurement concerns. The automation initiative aims to improve efficiency, with plans to switch to open tenders from DPM.
