Bangladesh’s fashion pollution: A wake-up call

Bangladesh’s booming fast fashion industry is causing severe environmental degradation, with rivers polluted by untreated textile effluents, rising carbon emissions from energy-intensive production, and mounting textile waste problems. Urgent calls are being made for sustainable practices like eco-friendly dyes, water recycling, circular fashion models, and stricter environmental regulations to mitigate the industry’s environmental impact and pave the way for a greener fashion future in the country.
