Bogota cuts ties with Israel over ‘genocidal’ Gaza campaign

By Redoy K

Colombian President Gustavo Petro announced his country will sever diplomatic ties with Israel, accusing its leader of being “genocidal” over the Gaza war. Petro, a harsh critic of Israel’s offensive that killed thousands in Gaza, said the world cannot accept “genocide” against Palestinians. Israel denounced Petro as “anti-Semitic and hateful,” saying he rewarded “Hamas murderers.” Hamas praised the move as a “victory,” urging other Latin American nations to follow suit.  Photo: AFP
