Brown Blotched Bengal Tree Frog’ found in Bangladesh

By Redoy K

Researchers have discovered the ‘Brown Blotched Bengal Tree Frog’ (Polypedates bengalensis) for the first time in Bangladesh. An adult female of this species was found in Jhenaidah district in June 2018. Previously, it was thought to be endemic to India. The finding, published in Herpetology Notes, suggests conducting systematic surveys to assess its population, habitat, and threats in Bangladesh.
