Buriganga land grabbed by MP and others to build dockyards

Illegal dockyards along the Buriganga River in Dhaka, owned by powerful politicians and local leaders, are narrowing the river. Despite orders from the state minister for shipping to remove them, 27 dockyards remain due to the owners’ influence. BIWTA officials admit they can’t evict these establishments.
