6 more die of dengue

Six dengue deaths were reported in Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, with five in Dhaka and one in Chattogram. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported 1,298 new hospitalizations, bringing the total cases to 49,880. The death toll has risen to 247. Dengue claims nine lives

Bangladesh recorded its highest single-day dengue death toll this year, with nine fatalities in 24 hours. The total death count has risen to 210, making it the third-highest since 2000. Experts attribute the high mortality to late hospitalization, quick onset of shock syndrome, and recurrent infections. Long Covid Symptoms To Last Longer In Pregnant Women: Study

A study published in Obstetrics & Gynecology reveals that about 1 in 10 women who contract COVID-19 during pregnancy experience long-term symptoms. These include fatigue, gastrointestinal issues, and feeling drained. The study, involving 1,500 participants, found 9.3% reported long-term symptoms six months post-infection. Researchers urge obstetricians to be vigilant, as these symptoms can overlap with pregnancy-related issues. The findings were confirmed in a secondary study of postpartum women.

Dengue: One dead, 14 hospitalised in 24 hours

Bangladesh reported one more dengue death and 14 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the toll to 40 and total cases to 3,207 this year. Currently, 143 patients are hospitalized. Last year saw a record high of 1,705 dengue deaths and 321,179 cases in the country.

One dies of dengue

In the last 24 hours till 8:00am today, one person died of dengue fever, taking the death toll to 33 this year. Meanwhile, 12 new dengue cases were reported, raising the total cases to 2,581 so far in 2023. The new cases were detected in Chattogram, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions.
