The process of handing over 500 acres of government-owned khas land to the Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) for the Bay Terminal project has reached the final stage. The district administration has instructed the CPA to deposit the token lease price of Tk 3 crore. Once complete, the mega expansion will allow larger vessels to berth at Chattogram port. The CPA is set to receive a total of 500.72 acres, while the acquisition of remaining required land is also in progress. The authority hopes to get around $8 billion in foreign investment for the project.
