Resorts are mushrooming around the ecologically critical Sundarbans area, defying environmental regulations. Currently, 14 resorts have been established, with 8 more under construction in Khulna and Satkhira. These resorts involve land filling, tree felling, and operation of polluting generators and ACs, posing threats to the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
