The AQI measures air pollution levels and potential health risks. Dhaka has long struggled with air pollution issues, with air quality typically worsening in winter. Air pollution is a major global health concern, causing an estimated 7 million premature deaths annually according to the WHO.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir called for a new movement to reclaim people’s rights and eliminate corruption, accusing the government of economic mismanagement.
