Container of cigarettes seized in Ctg

Chattogram customs seized a container of smuggled cigarettes from Thailand, falsely declared as water purifiers. The shipment, worth approximately Tk 5 crore, contained about 50 lakh Mond brand cigarettes. Imported by Hamco Corporation Limited, the goods were discovered during a joint operation based on a tip-off. Bangladesh prohibits foreign cigarettes without Bangla anti-smoking warnings.
