Cricket great Kapil Dev becomes new India golf chief

By Redoy K

Former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev has been appointed president of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). The 65-year-old World Cup-winning all-rounder, who led India to their first triumph in 1983, will use his sports experience to promote professional golf in India. PGTI CEO Uttam Singh Mundy believes Dev’s expertise will drive the sport’s growth. Dev, who retired from cricket in 1994, welcomed the role as an opportunity to spend more time with golfing friends.
