CU VC Prof Abu Taher resigns

Professor Md Abu Taher, Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University, resigned yesterday amid ongoing student protests. He submitted his resignation to the president and informed the university registrar. Students had been demanding the VC’s resignation since August 9, locking down his office, residence, and other administrative offices. The proctorial body and hall provosts had already stepped down due to the protests. The acting registrar confirmed the VC’s resignation today. Daily Star
