DGHS launches hotline for mpox cases

By Redoy K

Bangladesh’s health authorities have launched a hotline (16263 or 10655) for reporting monkeypox cases. The public is advised to contact these numbers if they show symptoms or have been exposed to the virus. Monkeypox, now known as mpox, causes painful rashes, swollen lymph nodes, and fever. It has spread to several African countries, and Pakistan recently confirmed its first case. A new, more dangerous strain has been detected in Sweden, prompting renewed global health concerns.
