Dhaka airport 3rd terminal: Opening not before 2026

Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s third terminal opening has been delayed until 2026, despite 98% completion. The delay is due to pending recommendations from a consultant on the terminal’s operation and maintenance. The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) needs to finalize agreements, train staff, and conduct trial runs before opening. The terminal, costing over Tk 21,300 crore, will double the airport’s capacity to 24 million passengers annually.
