Earth hit by ‘severe’ solar storm
Solar storm hits Earth, sparking geomagnetic activity that could bring auroras to lower latitudes. NOAA reports level-four storm conditions, potentially visible in Alabama and northern California. The storm, caused by coronal mass ejections, may disrupt communications and satellites. Astronauts captured stunning aurora images from space. This event is part of increased solar activity near the Sun’s 11-year cycle peak. AFP
