Exhibition hall, symbol of North Korea-China friendship, closed: Turbulence between Kim and Xi

North Korea has removed a “footprint tribute” commemorating the 2018 stroll and friendship-building between leader Kim Jong Un and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Bangchui Island, Dalian. An exhibition hall showcasing the leaders’ visits has also been closed, reportedly with Xi’s approval, sparking speculation of turbulence in North Korea-China relations after Pyongyang’s recent criticism of Beijing.
