Fair polls not possible without political will of govt : CEC

The Chief Election Commissioner stated that fair elections are not possible without the political will of the government and consensus among political parties. He said the Election Commission alone cannot conduct free, fair, and neutral polls. The Executive Director of Transparency International Bangladesh urged for a neutral election-time government system or obliging the incumbent government to act neutrally during elections. Both agreed on the need for reshaping the electoral system with the cooperation of political parties.
