Flood situation deteriorates in Kurigram, over 200,000 people marooned
Floods have worsened in Kurigram, Bangladesh, with over 200,000 people marooned in 14 unions across five upazilas. The Brahmaputra River is flowing above danger levels at three points. Academic activities in 37 primary schools have been suspended, and 2,300 hectares of cropland damaged. Many residents have taken shelter on embankments. The government has allocated relief supplies, including 173 tonnes of rice and Tk 1 million, with more in reserve for distribution to flood victims. Prothom Alo
