Former Nepal captain Lamichhane acquitted of rape on appeal: court

Nepali cricket star Sandeep Lamichhane had his eight-year jail sentence for rape quashed on appeal by Patan High Court on Wednesday. The 23-year-old, once the poster boy for cricket in Nepal, was accused of raping a woman in a Kathmandu hotel in 2022 but consistently denied the charge.
