General Waker-Uz-Zaman takes charge as army chief

General Waker-Uz-Zaman has assumed the role of Chief of Army Staff in Bangladesh for a three-year term, replacing General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed. Promoted from lieutenant general, Waker-Uz-Zaman brings over 35 years of military experience. He has served in various key positions, including as Chief of General Staff and principal staff officer to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
