Govt to punish those responsible for workers’ harassment

The Bangladeshi government will investigate and punish those responsible for harassing and preventing up to 4,000 Malaysian-bound migrant workers from flying to Malaysia before the May 31 deadline, said State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare Shofiqur Rahman Chowdhury. Despite having necessary documents, the workers failed to get air tickets as local recruitment agencies mishandled the situation.
