HC orders to close all schools, madrasas till Thursday

The High Court ordered the government to keep primary and secondary schools, and madrasas closed till Thursday due to the ongoing heatwave. However, this closure order is not applicable for O/A level exams, colleges, universities, air-conditioned schools, and where exams are ongoing. The HC bench gave this suo motu order to the Education Ministry. The reopening of educational institutions was marred by two teachers’ deaths and numerous students falling ill across the country yesterday due to the intense heat. PHOTO: ANISUR RAHMAN
